Wolfram Diener Named UFI President for 2026-27

Wolfram Diener, President and CEO, Messe Düsseldorf Group, has been elected as UFI’s President for the 2026-27 term. He will officially take on the role at the 93rd UFI Global Congress, taking place in Bahrain in November 2026.
Diener will first join the UFI Presidential Trio as Incoming President following the 92nd Global Congress in Hong Kong in November 2025. The presidential trio for 2025–2026 will include Panittha Buri, Vice-Chairperson, Bhiraj Buri Group, as President; Hugh Jones, CEO, RX, as Outgoing President; and Diener as Incoming President.
Diener brings over 30 years of global exhibition industry experience under his belt. Since 2020, he has led Messe Düsseldorf and has played a key role in the company’s international expansion. He has also held leadership roles at Marina Bay Sands Singapore Ltd, Shanghai New International Expo Centre Ltd, Venetian Macau Ltd, and Messe Frankfurt.
Speaking on his appointment, Diener said he is honored to lead UFI during a time of global challenges. “We must be present where the economy needs us most: in emerging markets and at the crossroads of global exchange,” he said. “With this mission in mind, I am committed to shaping a global exhibition industry that is collaborative, future-oriented, and impactful.”
Jones welcomed Diener, highlighting his leadership and vision. “Wolfram brings an extraordinary depth of leadership experience from one of the most successful and globally respected exhibition organizations,” he noted.
Chris Skeith, Chief Executive Officer, UFI, also praised Diener’s appointment, stating, “His extensive international experience and deep understanding of both organizer and venue perspectives will be invaluable as we guide UFI into its next exciting chapter together.”
