UFI Releases 2023 World Map of Venue Capacities
UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, released an updated and extended World Map of Exhibition Venues, revealing 1,425 venues with 42.1 million sq mt. China has the most venues, followed by US and Germany. Kai Hattendorf, CEO, UFI, notes that global expenditures in modernizing and extending exhibition venue space during the epidemic showed the industry’s resilience. Jochen Witt, CEO, jwc GmbH, emphasizes data quality, citing their partnership with UFI for the most complete and reliable venue information.
Europe has the biggest share in terms of global venue capacity, around 37.2 percent. Asia-Pacific follows closely at 36.6 percent, whereas China dominates on a country basis, hosting more than 29.3 percent of the world’s venue capacity. The report also tracks the growth of ‘mega venues’ with over 100,000 sq mt, totaling 81 worldwide.
