Telangana to Launch MSME Policy Focused on Entrepreneurship
The Telangana Government is all set to introduce a new MSME policy aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and generating employment, according to D Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, E&C, Industry & Commerce and Legislative Affairs, Govt of Telangana.
The policy seeks to promote the creation of small and medium enterprises, boost entrepreneurship, and create jobs. The unveiling is scheduled within a month, Babu stated, emphasizing its potential to be a ’game changer’. The Government will prioritize MSMEs alongside multinational corporations (MNCs) to encourage their growth.
Furthermore, plans are underway to establish a skill university in Hyderabad, akin to the Indian School of Business (ISB), with regional skill centers in each Assembly constituency headquarters. The initiative aims to equip youth with industry-relevant skills. Tata Motors Ltd and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd have shown interest in collaborating with the government for the university’s establishment.
Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister for Finance & Planning, Energy, Government of Telangana, highlighted the significance of micro and small industries in employment generation and announced plans to develop industry clusters under the Micro Small Enterprises Cluster Development programme.
