SOTC Travel Applauds Budget’s Strategic Boost to Indian Tourism

The Hon’ble Finance Minister’s interim budget for maintaining tax status quo and ensuring a neutral impact is applauded by Vishal Suri, Managing Director, SOTC Travel Ltd, a premier travel agency in India. The Government’s strategic approach to travel and tourism involves infrastructure development, green energy, and sustainability, with a targeted focus on each segment: aviation, waterways, and rail, enhancing regional connectivity to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
The addition of 517 new routes through the UDAN scheme—a move welcomed by SOTC Travel—signifies rapid air connectivity expansion, crucial for accessibility in regional India.
Furthermore, initiatives like PM Gati Shakti’s rail connectivity corridors and transforming 40,000 regular train carriages into high-speed Vande Bharat trains will fortify surface transportation. The emphasis on spiritual tourism, the development of iconic tourist spots, and island destinations, including Lakshadweep, aligns with the Government’s commitment to generating employment and boosting India’s economy. Notably, the formation of a panel to address challenges related to over-tourism in ecologically sensitive destinations reflects the Government’s conscientious approach.
