Smart Factory + Automation World 2025 Breaks Visitor Records

Smart Factory + Automation World 2025 (AW 2025), Asia’s premier smart factory and automation trade show, achieved record participation. Organized by COEX, Korea Intelligentization Association, Korea Smart Manufacturing Office, Korea Machine Vision Industrial Association, Chomdan INC, and Korea International Trade Association, it was held from March 12-14. The event saw a 10 percent rise in exhibitors and a 15 percent increase in visitors, drawing 70,000 attendees. Over 500 companies from 22 countries showcased innovations across 2,200 booths, emphasizing AI-driven manufacturing and automation.
The exhibition featured cutting-edge technologies, including AI, big data, cloud computing, and industrial robotics. A key highlight was the Asian debut of Boston Dynamics Inc’s ‘Stretch’, a logistics robot capable of handling boxes up to 23 kg. Hyundai AutoEver introduced its AI-driven ‘NeoFactory’ solution, while Schneider Electric SE marked 50 years in Korea with advanced smart manufacturing solutions. Rockwell Automation Inc revealed ‘OTTO 100’, an autonomous mobile robot designed to enhance factory logistics.
The event also encouraged business collaborations. The Overseas Buyer Export Consultation Meetings facilitated 317 meetings between 134 domestic companies and 23 international buyers, securing export deals worth US$ 106 million. The debut of the ‘AW Open Innovation Round’ enabled startups to connect with major enterprises. Lee Won-geun, CEO, Movie Lab, noted strong industry interest, with over 30 corporations seeking technology validation and two investment firms showing funding interest.
Lee Dong-ki, President, COEX, drew attention to the exhibition’s role in shaping manufacturing’s future, emphasizing AI-driven autonomy. The next edition, Smart Factory + Automation World 2026, is set for March 4-6, 2026, at COEX.
