Schaeffler India Strengthens Action Against Counterfeit Products

Schaeffler India Ltd, a leading motion technology company, is increasing its efforts to eradicate counterfeit products from the market. The company is launching a series of enforcement activities in major cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. Proactively working with local authorities, Schaeffler Brand Protection conducted various legal activities and raids, seizing several counterfeit components labeled with its brands FAG, INA, and LuK.
Using fake bearings and parts can result in serious safety hazards, machine malfunctions, and higher operating expenses. The company’s ongoing efforts to safeguard consumer safety and maintain consumer trust in the high standards of its motion technology products are measures taken to ensure its products are not misused and combat trademark issues.
Harsha Kadam, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Schaeffler India, highlighted, “At Schaeffler, quality and reliability are at the core of everything we do. Counterfeit products not only compromise safety and performance but also erode trust in the industry.” He further added, “We are committed to eliminating counterfeit products from the market by undertaking stringent legal action, conducting awareness campaigns, and empowering customers with the right tools to identify genuine Schaeffler products.”
The company advises customers to stay vigilant and verify product authenticity before making any purchases. To help distinguish its products from counterfeit ones, the company has revealed key measures to identify its products. Each product includes a unique identification code and a two-dimensional barcode on the packaging, which can be verified using the Schaeffler OriginCheck App.
Authentic products will also have accurate branding, such as the correct logo, font, and laser-marked product details. To avoid counterfeit risks, customers are encouraged to buy only from Schaeffler-authorized distributors.
