Rolls-Royce to Double India Sourcing, Strengthening Defence and Aerospace Ties

Over the next five years Rolls-Royce intends to double its India-based supply chain sourcing, reinforcing the country’s role as a global manufacturing hub for aerospace, defence, and power systems. This strategic move is in line with India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and strengthens its position in high-precision manufacturing.
The UK-based aerospace giant already sources complex engine components and precision parts from Indian partners and suppliers. Going forward, Rolls-Royce will expand its partnerships to source parts for advanced aerospace engines, naval propulsion systems, diesel engines, and gas turbines.
Rolls-Royce has recognized India as a major global destination for business sourcing operations, according to Nicola Grady-Smith, Chief Transformation Officer, Rolls-Royce. He further mentions that the company seeks to strengthen partnerships, which serve to advance their business objectives while helping India achieve self-reliance goals. The company employs over 2,000 engineers in India, contributing to global development programs, and has long-standing collaborations with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Tata, Bharat Forge, Godrej & Boyce, and others.
According to Alex Zino, Executive VP (Defence), Rolls-Royce, enhancing India’s supply networks will create foundations for co-production and defence technology development, further positioning India as a self-reliant defence powerhouse.
