PM Modi Steers Mobility Agenda at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024
Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the audience at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. He commended the role of the show in uniting the mobility and supply chain community. Over 800 exhibitors from 50+ countries displayed 1,000+ brands, promoting national and regional collaboration and showcasing cutting-edge technologies, sustainable solutions, and transportation innovations.
The Prime Minister stressed the Government’s commitment to integrated transport through the PM National Gati Shakti Masterplan, GST’s role in accelerating trade, Fast-Tag technology’s fuel and time savings, and the Production Linked Incentive Scheme’s importance. He allocated INR 1 lakh crore for research and innovation to promote battery manufacturing with indigenous raw materials to address electric car industry concerns. He promoted green hydrogen, ethanol, and hybrid vessel research using indigenous technologies.
PM Modi acknowledged truck drivers’ struggles and announced a plan to create modern facilities for them on national highways, urging the industry to react quickly to the mobility sector’s vast potential. He urged industry leaders to collaborate, promote local design, and embrace the objective of making India a mobility leader.
