Over INR 75,000 Cr Investments Expected in World Food India 2023
The second edition of World Food India, scheduled for November 3-5, 2023, is poised to draw over INR 75,000 crore (approximately US$ 10 billion) in investments in India’s food processing sector.
After a two-year delay due to the epidemic, 16 countries, 23 Indian state governments, and 11 Union departments will attend. Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate, and the Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu will attend the valedictory function. It will showcase investment potential in India’s food processing sector, with several companies already indicating their investment commitments.
Around 950 exhibitors and 75,000 guests are expected, with the Netherlands as the partner country and Japan and Vietnam as the focused countries. Minhaj Alam, Additional Secretary, Food Processing Industries, informed that companies are projected to invest over INR 75,000 crore in this edition, expanding on the success of the debut event, which earned INR 23,000 crore. The event will also feature unique culinary endeavors, including the creation of the world's longest ‘Millet dosa’.
