NAMTECH, Cisco Join Forces to Fortify Cybersecurity Education in Indian Manufacturing
NAMTECH, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India’s education initiative, and Cisco, a global technology leader, have come together to bolster cybersecurity education for India's manufacturing sector.
The alliance addresses the need for cybersecurity and networking experts owing to industrial manufacturing's digital transformation. The MoU defines the development of cybersecurity, networking, and artificial intelligence-based experiential learning-centered academic programs. Cisco's training modules will be integrated into NAMTECH's programs to train 5,000 engineers and technicians in five years.
The MoU aims to create a cybersecurity center of excellence in Gujarat. The partnership supports India’s goal of being a global technology leader and emphasizes cybersecurity’s importance for secure digital manufacturing.
Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Govt of India, lauded the industry- academia partnership as key towards fostering competence development and adoption of new technologies in India’s journey to Industry 4.0.
