Mount Row Targets $2 Billion Investment in India
Clean energy firm Mount Row Partners is preparing to invest a whopping US$ 2 billion as investment in India's renewable energy market, particularly focusing on waste management solutions. With keen interest in converting waste materials into energy across states, the company seeks to contribute to the nation's sustainable growth.
With an already existing portfolio of around US$ 1 billion in assets, the company is eager to explore ‘biodigestion’ technology and the possibility of waste to energy conversion in India. The plan involves establishing 5-10 MW projects. The initial phase focuses on Maharashtra, investing US$ 150-200 million in ten waste-based facilities.
Mount Row has signed an MoU with Maharashtra Government and is presently looking out for sites for its first ten projects. “We are entering into a programme for 5 years to build 100-200 plants in India. That is a big task but achievable,” said Geoff Pollard, Co-founder and Director, Mount Row Partners.
