Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ Manufacturing Unit Opens in Hyderabad

Malabar Gold & Diamonds, an Indian jewelry group, has recently inaugurated its largest fully integrated jewelry manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, Telangana. Situated in General Park, Maheshwaram, the integrated facility brings critical operations such as refining, design, production, quality checks, hallmarking, and logistics under one roof, spread across 3.45 lakh sq ft.
With an annual production capacity of over 4.7 tonnes of gold jewelry and 1.8 lakh carats of diamond jewelry, the unit also refines up to 78 tonnes of gold annually. The facility employs over 2,750 artisans originating from 18 states, with 40 percent of its workforce recruited locally. As a display of diversity in the workplace, 20 percent of the unit’s workforce is women.
M P Ahammad, Chairman, Malabar Group, commented on the launch, stating, “In line with our ‘Make in India, Market to the World’ Vision, the facility reinforces our commitment to producing world-class jewelry in India for the global markets.” Asher O, Managing Director - India Operations, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, said the unit supports the Indian Jewelry Group in serving the country’s growing demand as it expands across 22 states.
On the technical front, Nishad A K, Executive Director, Malabar Group, highlighted the use of “cutting-edge manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing, casting, engineered metal preparation, CNC machining, laser cutting, and H₂O₂-based soldering” within the unit.
Equipped with high-precision machinery imported from the USA, Italy, Germany, and Turkey, the facility also includes a design studio, R&D center, in-house skill development, and employee housing.
