Korea-India Forum in Hyderabad Strengthens Investment Ties with Telangana

The Korea-India Economic Cooperation Forum concluded on June 20, 2024, in Hyderabad, to foster enhanced industrial collaboration between the two nations under the theme of ‘Strengthening Mutual Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Korea and India’. The event was co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the India-Korea Business Cooperation Center, and the Honorary Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hyderabad. 

The Telangana State Government invited Korean companies to invest more in the state, promising state-of-the-art infrastructure, skill & talent pool, and a specialized framework to handle Korean investments. To this, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Minister of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) and Industries & Commerce (I&C), Telangana, added that the Telangana Government will also have a dedicated desk under Invest Telangana Cell to handle Korean investments and provide single-window service. 

Against this backdrop, Chang Jae-bok, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, stressed that over the past decade, India’s initiatives have successfully been implemented, deepening the bilateral relationship between both countries, with trade volumes reaching an all-time high of US$ 27.8 billion in 2022. Furthermore, the forum also included sessions by dignitaries and industry leaders on successful collaboration cases across sectors.
