Kisani Urjaa Supports Over 1,000 Farmers with Health and Sustainability Drive

Kisani Urjaa Pvt Ltd (KUPL), the Agritech arm of Gruner Renewable Energy, conducted a two-day corporate social responsibility (CSR) outreach program in Vijayawada and Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. This initiative focused on providing free health services and educating farmers on sustainable agricultural practices through workshops, resulting in a positive impact on over 1,000 farmers.

Organized in collaboration with the Gruner Foundation, the camps aimed to address rural healthcare gaps and promote eco-conscious farming practices. Medical services included general physician consultations, eye examinations, pediatric & gynecological assessments, blood sugar, blood pressure screenings, and nutritional counseling.

This initiative addresses the pressing healthcare challenges as per a 2023 NITI Aayog report, which stated that there is an 83 percent shortfall in specialist doctors and over 70 percent of farmers lack access to basic preventive check-ups in India’s rural regions, thus leading to untreated chronic conditions and occupational hazards.

Utkarsh Gupta, Founder & CEO, Gruner Group, referred to farmers as the backbone of the country’s economy. “With Kisani Urjaa, we are not just offering tools—we are nurturing well-being, resilience, and opportunity. Our CSR efforts reflect our deep commitment to empowering rural India, in line with the country’s vision for a healthier, greener agricultural future,” he shares.

Apart from offering healthcare services, agricultural experts conducted workshops to educate farmers on sustainable farming techniques such as efficient crop planning, post-harvest residue management, and income diversification strategies. A live demo of mechanized stubble collection showed how farm waste can be converted into valuable bioproducts, offering environmental and income benefits.
