Kaynes Technology to Invest INR 2,800 Cr in Semiconductor Facility in Telangana, Creating 2,000 Jobs
Kaynes Technology, Mumbai-based integrated electronics manufacturer, is set to invest INR 2,800 crore in establishing a semiconductor OSAT (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test), manufacturing and compound semiconductor facility in Telangana.
This substantial investment will result in the creation of over 2,000 direct job opportunities and will be located on a 40-acre plot adjacent to Foxconn’s upcoming facility in Ranga Reddy district. The project is being undertaken by Kaynes Semicon, a subsidiary specifically established by Kaynes Technology for its OSAT/ATMP (assembly, testing, marking, and packaging) services expansion.
In addition to the facility in Telangana, Kaynes Semicon is collaborating with IIT Bombay to set up an R&D center focused on package research. In the initial three years, Kaynes Semicon will specialize in offering various semiconductor package types for power devices, such as QFN (quad flat no-lead), SOT (smart outline transistor), TO, BGA (ball grid array), and FC BGA (flip chip plastic BGA).
This significant investment and expansion plan was announced by KT Rama Rao, Minister for IT, Industries, Municipal Administration, and Urban Development, Govt of Telangana, following discussions with Kaynes Technology’s leadership.
