Italy to Host New Hydrogen Trade Show HYPE in 2025

Hannover Fairs International GmbH (HFI), a subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG, is all set to launch HYPE, the Hydrogen Power Expo, in Rimini, Italy, from March 5-7, 2025. Organized in partnership with Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the trade show will be part of the well-established KEY Energy trade fair, reinforcing Italy’s market position in hydrogen technologies.
This will be the first hydrogen-focused exhibition hosted by HFI in Italy. HYPE will join other energy-focused events at KEY, such as SEC Solar Expo, WEM - Wind Expo for Med, and KSE - Key Storage Expo. With 800+ exhibitors across 90,000 sq mt, the event expects 54,000 visitors, including 15 percent from outside Italy.
HYPE aims to be a premier platform for companies to showcase innovations in hydrogen technology and network with industry leaders. Supported by Hydrogen & Fuel Cells EUROPE, a major hydrogen event at Hannover Messe, the expo will foster discussions on hydrogen’s role in energy transition.
Meanwhile, Italy is swiftly establishing a strategic position in the energy market. Through recent government agreements, Italy has established itself as the vital energy connection between Europe and North Africa. The South H2 Corridor, a 3,300 km pipeline system, is set to transport green hydrogen from Algeria and Tunisia to Central Europe by 2030. Furthermore, Italy dedicates €3.64 billion to create hydrogen infrastructure through the development of 54 Hydrogen Valleys throughout the country.
