Key recommendations from the AI expert panel include establishing three AI centers of excellence, launching the India Datasets Platform with open-source architecture, monetizing non-personal data, creating a non-personal data regulator in two months by establishing the National Data Management Office, and providing INR 4,000 crore funding for 725 AI startups.
The proposal includes an AI Ignition Grant Program for 500 AI startups, a National AI Compute Grid with 24,500 GPUs at 17 centers, support for AI chips through a public-private partnership model, broad-based AI education with 1,000 research fellowships, and leveraging AI marketplaces and open-source frameworks.
The aim is to foster innovation, generate employment, and propel India into a prominent position in the global AI landscape while navigating the challenges of regulating this rapidly evolving sector.
