India’s Tourism Ecosystem Round Table Conference
The Ministry of Tourism held a Round Table Conference in New Delhi recently to unlock India’s Tourism Ecosystem’s potential. The Government, industry, and international entities like NITI Aayog, UNESCO, UNEP, WTTCII, IUCN, IHMCL, IRCTC, PHD Chamber of Commerce, and FHRAI had lively conversations during this event.
Ministry/Department and sector delegates filled the dialogue with important topics like Governance, Local Community Engagement, Labour's Role, Economic Impact, Technology's Influence, Cultural and Natural Resource Preservation, Infrastructure, and Environmental Sustainability. Thematic sessions covered Enabling Environment, Travel and Tourism Policy, Demand Drivers, and Sustainability.
Culturally rich states, digital strategies, content development, accurate data, and education policy alignment were strategic priorities. Safety, healthcare tourism, digitization, international perspective reform, integrated policies, media coverage, and talent development were key outcomes.
This Conference is expected to improve the Ministry’s understanding and contribute to India's worldwide tourism leadership in safety, healthcare, digitization, policy coordination, media representation, and talent development. The Round Table Conference established a knowledge sharing framework for collaborative efforts to grow India's tourism sustainably and innovatively.
