India’s Food Processing Boom: Key Trade Fairs in June
India’s food processing sector is set to reach an output of US$ 535 billion by 2025-26. This industry is crucial in connecting Indian farmers to domestic and international consumers. It accounts for 12.22 percent of employment in the registered factory sector, employing approximately 2.03 million people. In the unregistered sector, it supports 5.1 million workers, making up 14.18 percent of employment.
Major segments include processed fruits and vegetables, ready-to-eat /ready-to-cook products, mozzarella cheese, marine products, edible oils, beverages, and dairy products. Inter FoodTech 2024, co-located with Snack & BakeTec 2024 and Annapoorna Inter Food India 2024, from June 5-7, 2024, at Yashobhoomi (IICC), New Delhi, offers a comprehensive platform for the food processing industry. Jointly organized by Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), VA Exhibitions, and Forum of India Food Importers (FIFI), the event attracts 400+ companies from around 20 countries showcasing their solutions in a 20,000 sq mt exhibition area.
According to Ashwani Pande, CEO, VA Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, Inter FoodTech, and Snake & BakeTec have quickly become essential trade fairs for the sector, bringing together top processing and packaging solutions. Balvinder S Sawhney, Assistant Secretary General, FICCI, mentioned that Annapoorna has been re-launched as Annapoorna Inter Food 2024 with new partners, aiming to establish it as a significant trade fair for the food and beverage trade in the region. The event is expected to attract over 15,000 visitors, providing networking opportunities and a platform to showcase food and beverage products.
