Indian Toy Manufacturers Shine at Nuremberg International Toy Fair

Indian toy makers secured significant orders exceeding US$ 10 million at Germany’s Nuremberg International Toy Fair, showcasing high-quality products.

Government initiatives such as mandatory quality norms, increased custom duty, and the National Action Plan on Toys (NAPT) have fostered the production of superior toys, garnering global attention. The industry saw particular success in categories like wooden toys and educational learning toys.

Buyers from the US, UK, South Africa, and Germany showed interest, with more than 55 Indian participants at the fair. The event marked a shift in buyer behavior, recognizing India as an attractive sourcing destination.

The platform also facilitated international joint ventures, bolstering global recognition of ‘Made in India’ toys. With a 52 percent decrease in toy imports and a 239 percent increase in exports recorded over the past years, the industry aims for further growth through partnerships with major players like Snapdeal and Walmart.
