India to Host G20 Investors Conference on Tourism Next Year
India will capitalize on its G20 leadership by hosting a global meet on investments into its Tourism sector and a conference on business tourism next year. Tourism players from all G20 Countries, Financial Institutions, State Tourism Ministries, and Central Government Ministries will attend the January-February investment summit in Delhi. Bangalore will host an April MICE tourism conference separately.
The states might also exhibit their strengths to international investors to attract tourism infrastructure investments. The tourism ministry also chose Siliguri, Rann of Kutch, Kashmir, and Goa for G20 meetings.
Officials said delegates would be taken on familiarization visits to promote India as a tourism destination. Tourism and hospitality have been important sources of foreign exchange earnings and jobs in India. India will host the G20 Leaders' Summit for the first time in 2023 after assuming the G20 leadership on December 1, 2022.
