IITM Returns to Mumbai, Uniting Travel Industry and Tourists
India International Travel Mart (IITM), organized by Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions took place recently at Nehru Centre, Mumbai. The event marked its presence with notable attendees from the tourism sector. IITM has garnered significant interest, with successful editions in Bengaluru, Chennai, and New Delhi earlier in 2023.
IITM is celebrating 23 years of connecting the travel industry and discerning consumers with over 150 exhibitors from travel-trade organizations and tourism boards. With participants from 20 Indian states and over ten nations, the festival exhibits pilgrimages, cultural heritage, scenic beaches, wildlife, and hill towns.
Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department promotes winter offerings. With Maharashtra’s cooperation, IITM promotes MICE, GOLF, and FILM TOURISM to improve tourism, the economy, and employment. IITM promotes responsible tourism and environmental conservation in addition to destination marketing. The exhibition promotes eco-tourism, community-based tourism, and India’s natural and cultural heritage. At the same time the event lends a platform to the States to promote their travel packages on it.
Sanjay Hakhu, Director, Sphere Travel Media, stressed IITM’s significance in boosting local tourism, especially in a post-pandemic environment with slower overseas arrivals.
