IHCL Plans Exquisite Resorts in Lakshadweep Island
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), Tata Group's hospitality arm, plans to lift tourism in Lakshadweep with two resorts under the brand of ‘Taj’ on islands Suheli and Kadmat. This decision is consistent with the Group’s commitment to sustainable development and eco-tourism.
The year 2026 is anticipated with the introduction of Greenfield projects by IHCL that promise to present Lakshadweep’s pure beaches and corals enveloped in the Arabian Sea and enhance the union territory's charm.
Excited with the development, Puneet Chhatwal, MD and CEO, IHCL, stated that the two Taj world-class resorts will be visited by both international and domestics travelers. Kadmat, known for its attractive dive centers, will host the Taj Hotel, featuring 75 beach villas and 35 water villas, while Suheli's Taj resort will comprise 110 rooms, including 60 beach villas and 50 water villas. These ventures not only add allure to Lakshadweep's tourist spots but also embody IHCL's innovative spirit that has propelled destinations like Rajasthan, Kerala, Goa, and Andamans onto the global tourist map.
