IGBC and CREDAI Spearhead Sustainable Development
Aimed at leading the charge in green building practices and sustainable development, the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) hosted the E3 event in Chennai. GS Sameeran, IAS, Joint Commissioner (Works), Greater Chennai Corporation, highlighted the societal responsibility of integrating sustainable practices into daily life.
Rooted in ancient wisdom, IGBC advocates sustainable design principles, collaborating with the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) to drive a greener future while celebrating CREDAI’s 25th anniversary.
The event convened industry pioneers, policymakers, and advocates, including Sridharan Swaminathan, National VP, South Zone, CREDAI, who emphasized how green buildings create a sustainable ecosystem, generate job opportunities, and integrate eco-friendly practices into construction. He further mentioned the transformative impact of green buildings on allied industries like renewable energy.
Additionally, the event acknowledged Mahindra World City, Chennai, and Urbanrise for their unwavering commitment to green practices. Technical sessions at the event explored critical themes, showcasing the city’s progress toward sustainability under IGBC’s guidance.
