Hyderabad to Get London-style Clock Towers
To revive the old tradition of clocks striking the hour to remind people of the time, Hyderabad would get new clock towers, which would replace dysfunctional ones in the city. Ramesh Swiss Watch Gallery Founder Laxman Chuggani stated that the new clocks would be GPS-enabled.
Siddipet will have new clock towers in Nalgonda, Mettuguda, and Linganapet, as well as two new clocks at the Uppal Cricket Stadium, and the clocks in Murgi Chowk and Shalibanda will be replaced with automatic electronic GPS clocks.
The 10 ft clock to be installed in Siddipet would be the most unusual. The clock is equipped with a striking system that can be heard for 2 km and will be lit from 6 pm to 6 am, requiring no maintenance. The companyââ¬â¢s most recent clock installation was at Sultan Bazaar. The electric clocks are water- and dust-resistant, with a two-day solar battery backup.
