Hyderabad Rises as a Key Global Office Leasing Hub
Hyderabad has become a pivotal player in global office leasing, securing 21 percent of India’s office space by global capability centers (GCCs) from 2022 to mid-2024. The ‘Telangana Going Global’ report, released at Statecon 2024, organized by Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) Telangana, revealed that the city’s office space leasing hit 4.4 million sq ft in early 2024, contributing to an overall office stock surge to 127 million sq ft.
During the event at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Hyderabad, Shri N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Minister for Irrigation, Food & Civil Supplies, Govt of Telangana, credited the city’s rapid growth to extensive infrastructure development and supportive government policies. He reassured the real estate sector of continued government support and attention to key issues like zoning and building regulations.
The report also highlighted Hyderabad’s impressive US$ 3 billion in foreign direct investment for 2023-24, a significant increase from the previous year. With anticipated additions of 34-37 million sq ft of investment-grade business parks over the next three years, Hyderabad is set for further expansion in the commercial real estate sector.
