Hyderabad Celebrates Boxing World Champion Nikhat Zareen's Arrival

Telangana boxer Nikhat Zareen, from Nizamabad, returned to Hyderabad as a hero after retaining her world championship title by winning back-to-back gold medals at the recently concluded IBA Women's Boxing World Championships in New Delhi. V Srinivas Goud, State Sports Minister; E Anjaneya Goud, SATS chairman; and V Chamundeswaranath, Former BCCI Junior Selection Committee Chairman and State Badminton Association Official, welcomed the boxer at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, along with other officials.
The boxer made history by becoming the first Indian to retain the world championship. The Nizamabad boxer entered the competition as an unseeded boxer and won first place. On her return, the Sports Minister and officials greeted her and led her in a parade in an open-top Jeep. The minister praised the boxers' accomplishments and expressed hope that she would continue to bring honor to the state and nation.
