Hussain Sagar STP Capacity Doubled
Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will expand the capacity of the Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) around Hussain Sagar Lake to help the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Department make Hyderabad the first city to treat 100 percent of its sewage. The HMDA is increasing the capacity of the STPs around Hussain Sagar Lake to 10, 40, and 60 MLD.
This environmental conservation plan has invited bids for tertiary treatment and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) for 20 years surrounding Hussain Sagar Lake and associated infrastructure under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is building 17 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) with a capacity of 376.5 MLD for `1,280.87 crore along the Musi River and the Kukatpally Nala catchment to decentralize sewage treatment.
