Google and Telangana Govt Sign MoU to Encourage Entrepreneurs with Digital Skills
Google recently signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) with Telangana Government to bring the benefits of digital economy to the state’s youth and women entrepreneurs and has begun ground-up development on its 3.3 million sq ft building in the city. The MoU was signed in the presence of Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, where he unveiled the building design, which prioritizes #sustainability and energy efficiency throughout its design.
Delighted with the collaboration, he went on to speak about the city’s long and fruitful relationship with Google, which has helped the city’s image. He also stated that Google is strengthening its Hyderabad connection and roots by opening a new 7.3-acre campus in Gachibowli. Sanjay Gupta, Country Head and Vice President, Google India Pvt Ltd, asserted that Hyderabad has been home to one of the company’s largest employee bases since its operations in India began, and that the company is pleased to strengthen its association to support and accelerate the Telangana Government’s efforts.
Google will collaborate with the government through its various arms under the new initiative to provide scholarships for Google Career Certificates to Telangana’s youth, support women entrepreneurs through digital, business, and financial skills training, and strengthen the government’s school modernization efforts with digital teaching and learning tools and solutions. The company will also support the state government’s efforts to improve public transportation and the use of digital technologies in agriculture as part of the collaborative effort.
