GBC 2022 Promotes Green Buildings - News

Green Building Congress 2022 was held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) from October 20-22, 2022, by the CII's Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The event, on the theme 'Advancing Net Zero Buildings & Built-Environment', aimed to sensitize stakeholders to join the Green Building Movement and plan a roadmap to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2070 in India. The exhibition covered climate change, net zero energy, water waste, and carbon in towns in green building initiatives.

The 20th edition of the event featured 120 distinguished speakers discussing a variety of green building and built environment topics. Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Former Union Minister with 10 Portfolios and a six-time MP, inaugurated the event. 

Lokesh Kumar DS, IAS, Municipal Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation; Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation; Arvind Subramanian, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd; George Menezes, Advisor Sustainability, Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd; and Sachin Kumar, Associate Director - Energy Efficiency Programme, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, were among the speakers.
