From Tokyo to Aichi: Tourism Expo Japan 2025 Sets New Destination
Tourism Expo Japan will make its debut in Aichi Prefecture in 2025, marking a departure from its usual venues in Tokyo or Osaka since its inception in 2014, with a one-time event in Okinawa in 2020. This decision reflects Japan's initiative to decentralize tourism efforts.
The 2025 expo will focus on three key themes: decentralizing international visitors to explore local areas, supporting long-term tourism recovery in the Hokuriku region following the January 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, and enhancing global connectivity through Chubu Centrair International Airport. The venue, Aichi Sky Expo, boasts one of Japan’s largest exhibition spaces, spanning 60,000 sq mt and offering direct access to an international airport.
Governor Hideaki Omura of Aichi Prefecture expressed optimism that visitors will fully utilize the Aichi Sky Expo’s facilities, significantly boosting Japanese tourism during Tourism Expo Japan 2025. Tourism Expo Japan 2025 is scheduled for September 26-29, 2025. Meanwhile, the 2024 event will take place at Tokyo Big Sight under the theme ‘Travel, an Encounter with New Value Awaits’.
