Flender Marks 125 Years with India Expansion

Flender India, which is part of the global Flender Group, has announced that it will increase its investment in the Indian market to drive future growth. The investment in India has nearly quadrupled in the last four years, underscoring the company’s strong commitment to the region.

Flender India has three production facilities in Kharagpur in West Bengal and Chennai & Walajabad in Tamil Nadu, supplying wind turbine drive gearboxes to the home and overseas markets as well. Over half of the lot presently supplied by Flender India is exported, and business turnover has more than doubled in the past three years.

Commemorating the Group’s 125-year anniversary, Andreas Evertz, CEO, Flender Group, visited the facilities in Tamil Nadu along with Vinod Shetty, CEO, Flender India. During the celebration, Evertz stressed that being a large Flender family, which includes employees, customers, suppliers, or partners, is proud of this team and looks forward to advancing the energy transition together. Echoing similar thoughts and on the key milestone, Shetty added that the employees’ commitment is one of the critical success factors of Flender.

Flender Group, founded in 1899 in Bocholt, Germany, established its presence in India in 1961. With almost 10 percent of its 9,000 staff worldwide holding a position in India, the company continues to see India as a strategic growth market.
