Epiroc AB Invests in Hyderabad for New Facilities
Swedish mining company, Epiroc AB, which provides mining and construction products and equipment, has recently announced a major expansion of its manufacturing facility and the inauguration of an innovation and technology center in Hyderabad, India.
The Hyderabad plant, which produces rock drilling tools, previously doubled its capacity and is now expanding further. This strategic expansion includes increased land, new buildings, and advanced machinery. The plant will create around 30 job openings, with production scheduled to begin by April 2025.
Helena Hedblom, President and CEO, Epiroc AB, spoke of the company’s confidence in India’s future potential, describing the country as a crucial growth market and an important manufacturing and innovation hub for the Epiroc Group.
Arunkumar Govindarajan, President, Epiroc Mining India Pvt Ltd, noted that this expansion supports the ‘Make in India’ initiative. According to Chandu Rao, General Manager, Epiroc Innovation & Technology Center in India, the new technology center will strengthen the company’s efforts in providing innovative solutions and products. He further pointed out how the expansion will tap into the region’s talent pool.
