Delhi Government to Introduce Mobile Veterinary Clinics
In an effort to revolutionize veterinary care, the Government of Delhi plans to launch mobile veterinary clinics in every district. Under the Livestock Health and Disease Control scheme, the Development Department, Government of NCT of Delhi, will deploy ambulance-based mobile veterinary units (MVUs) to provide doorstep services, benefiting pet owners, farmers, and residents.
These units will offer free medical aid, including essential drugs, to pets and livestock, ensuring timely treatment without extensive travel. This initiative also extends to stray animals, such as cats, dogs, birds, and cattle, making veterinary assistance easily accessible. Additionally, a toll-free helpline and a call center will monitor complaints and coordinate with MVUs and government veterinary facilities.
Equipped with GPS and digital tools, these clinics aim to diagnose diseases, provide ambulatory services, conduct disease surveillance, and educate the public on animal health. With strategic locations and operational guidelines, the mobile clinics aim to streamline veterinary care and enhance animal welfare across the city.
