Brands of India 2024 to Showcase Indian Apparel’s Growing Appeal
The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is preparing to host the second edition of Brands of India, a prominent apparel trade show, from November 12-14, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai. Supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and several key industry organizations, the purpose of the event is to strengthen trade relations while showcasing India’s dynamic apparel industry.
The event will feature over 150 brands and white-label manufacturers, offering an expansive range of fashion across men’s, women’s, and children’s categories. This includes casual, formal wear, ethnic, and athleisure styles, serving as a major sourcing hub for a global audience. More than 1,000 wholesalers, importers, and boutique stores from the Middle East, Africa, and other international markets have already registered.
Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, highlighted the steady growth in India’s apparel exports, projected to hit US$15 billion in 2024, representing a 5-7 percent increase from the previous year. He expressed optimism that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the UAE will enhance trade, especially in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Additionally, Jagdish Amarnani, Chairman, Textile Merchants Group (TEXMAS), the body of Dubai-based wholesale textile merchants, highlighted that Indian apparel resonates well with regional consumer tastes, making the event a preferred platform to meet the growing demand for contemporary apparel during the festive season.
