BharatPe Group Collaborates with WEP to Empower Women Entrepreneurs in India
BharatPe Group has collaborated with the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) to help Indian women entrepreneurs achieve self-sufficiency and business growth. The collaboration’s goal is to build an aggregator platform that provides access to peer assistance, mentorship, networking channels, and a variety of learning resources.
BharatPe Cares, the Group’s corporate social responsibility program that promotes inclusive and dependable fintech solutions, is behind the effort. With women entrepreneurs accounting for only 13.76 percent of all entrepreneurs in India, the alliance aims to address their obstacles and provide a level playing field for them.
Women entrepreneurs in India have the potential to create 150-170 million new jobs by 2030, accounting for more than 25 percent of the total number of new jobs needed for the working-age population. WEP, an initiative conceived and incubated at NITI Aayog, provides a continuum of support for female entrepreneurs by collecting resources and services and delivering personalized information and services to assist them on their entrepreneurial journeys. The collaboration with BharatPe Group adds another vital stakeholder to WEP’s growing network of partner organizations, helping to level the playing field for female entrepreneurs and broaden the funnel to encourage more women to establish their own businesses.
