Axiro Semiconductor Opens Advanced Design Center in Bengaluru

Axiro Semiconductor Pvt Ltd has inaugurated its fabless semiconductor design center in Whitefield, Bengaluru, with several key government and industry leaders in attendance. Recognized as India’s first fabless semiconductor company operating at full scale, the company supplies millions of chips each month to global firms such as Ericsson, Nokia, Hughes, and Siemens.
Specializing in next-generation chip solutions, the company focuses on high-impact sectors such as 5G/6G, strategic defence, satellite communications, and industrial IoT. Its fabless model emphasizes design and IP creation, while leveraging global foundries for production, rapid scalability, cost-optimization, and high-performance.
Circling back to the new Bengaluru facility, it is designed as a modern innovative hub equipped with advanced design labs, ergonomic collaborative spaces, and expansion-ready infrastructure to accommodate a doubling of its R&D team in 2026.
Speaking at the inauguration on behalf of Axiro Semiconductor’s parent company, Vellayan Subbiah, Chairman, CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd, highlighted that strong collaboration with academia and partners will encourage breakthroughs. He reassured that the company aims to deliver solutions for AI, automotive, and IoT applications, to aid in India’s integration into the global semiconductor value chain.
Emphasizing the company’s national strategic importance of indigenous semiconductor design capabilities, Sushil Pal, CEO, India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), stated, “Axiro is a milestone for India's semiconductor mission. It reflects the vision of self-reliance with global relevance.”
