ASPA Hosts MEA Open House in Dubai to Tackle Counterfeiting

The Authentication Solution Providers’ Association (ASPA) held its MEA Open House at Anantara Downtown, Dubai. The event brought together 46 delegates from 17 companies involved in authentication, packaging, and brand protection, strengthening collaboration against counterfeiting in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) regions.
Moderated by Kaunain Shahidi, Packaging and Sustainability Expert, the event commenced with Manoj Kochar, President, ASPA, outlining the association’s key focus areas. Kochar also spoke about the association’s mission to safeguard products and consumers, as well as the growing importance of adopting authentication and traceability solutions.
Ranesh Bajaj, Governing Body Member, ASPA and Chairperson, ASPA MEA Chapter, stressed the urgent need for industry-wide collaboration to address the rise of counterfeiting. He pointed out the difficulties faced by brand owners and solutions providers and proposed a Dubai-based ‘Action Group’ to expand the association’s efforts in the region. Six companies expressed interest in joining this proposed initiative.
The event drew strong support, with 11 companies showing intent to become ASPA members. Ankit Gupta, Vice President, ASPA, expressed his heartfelt thanks to attendees for their active involvement and support as the formal proceedings came to an end.
Kochar added, “The overwhelming response to the MEA Open House underscores the growing commitment among industry leaders to build a future rooted in authenticity and trust.” Reinforcing the association’s mission, he shared, “At ASPA, we are proud to have created a dynamic platform that not only raises critical awareness but also forges actionable partnerships, empowering the fight against counterfeiting across borders.”
