Air Works Deal Makes Adani Defence Soar

Adani Defence Systems & Technologies Ltd (ADSTL) is acquiring Air Works India, one of the country’s oldest and most trusted MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) companies, for INR 400 crore with an 85.8 percent stake to firmly establish itself in the aviation domain.

Air Works, which entered the Indian MRO market over four decades ago, now has operations at a total of 27 locations and a workforce of over 1,300 employees. The company offers full solutions for aircraft maintenance, modifications, CAMO compliance, avionics enhancements, and nondestructive testing. Being the market leader in maintenance, overhaul, and repair services, Air Works guarantees that different fleets are prepared for their missions and are serviceable.

Jeet Adani, Director, Adani Airport Holdings Ltd, said this progression sits well with the country’s emerging status as an international aviation hub. He further shared that as fleet numbers increase and connectivity gets enhanced, this acquisition enhances Adani’s capacity in establishing the best MRO ecosystem.

Describing this move as a strategic landmark, Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO, Adani Defence & Aerospace, stated that with this acquisition, the company can offer turnkey solutions in civil and defence aviation and strengthen domestic development under the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ mission’.

Air Works’ acquisition not only augments a new node for Adani Defence but also strengthens India’s aviation sectors in harmony with the country’s increasing hold in the aviation sector globally.
