AGEL: Leader in India’s Renewable Sector
In a leap towards sustainable energy, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) recently commissioned 2,000 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity at the Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat. This achievement makes AGEL India’s first company with a renewable energy capacity of over 10,000 MW.
The company’s 10,934 MW operational portfolio includes 7,393 MW of solar capacity, 1,401 MW of wind power, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity, reflecting its commitment to a diverse and sustainable energy mix. It is anticipated that this portfolio will provide electricity to over 5.8 million households and prevent approximately 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Emphasizing the rapid growth of the company, Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group, highlighted how Adani Green Energy has transitioned from a concept to a reality, reaching an impressive milestone of 10,000 MW in installed capacity within less than a decade. These achievements highlight AGEL’s dedication to advancing clean, reliable, and affordable energy in India. Looking ahead, the company aims to achieve 45 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
