Adani Green Energy Ltd Expands Renewable Capacity to 14.2 GW

In its recent operational update for FY 2024-25, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), an Indian renewable energy company, has reported a 30 percent year-on-year increase in its operational renewable energy capacity, reaching 14.2 gigawatts (GW). 

This update is a significant increase of 30 percent from the 10.9 GW recorded at the end of FY 2024. The company expects this figure to rise to 15.2 GW, with an additional 1 GW expected to be operationalized by May 15, 2025. 

AGEL also highlighted the commissioning of 3.3 GW of greenfield renewable energy projects during the year. This includes 2.7 GW solar plants comprising 1.46 GW in Khavda, Gujarat, 1 GW in Rajasthan, and 250 MW in Andhra Pradesh. Also included are 599 MW wind power plants in Khavda, Gujarat. 

Energy sales for the fiscal year saw a 28 percent increase, reaching 27,969 million units. This growth was largely due to the company’s steady expansion in capacity.
