Furry, Finned, and Feathery: A Grand Pet Stage

The 7th edition of PETEX INDIA, Co- Sponsored by Carniwel, successfully took place from January 31-February 2, 2025, at HITEX Exhibition Center, Hyderabad. Organized by Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Ltd (HITEX), the event served as India’s largest B2B2C platform for the pet industry, bringing together manufacturers, retailers, service providers, and pet enthusiasts to explore industry trends, innovations, and responsible pet ownership.

PETEX INDIA 2025 drew an astounding crowd, with over 2,000 trade visitors and over 25,000 pet parents and aficionados. The exhibition’s strong business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) presence underlined the event’s growing influence in the industry. Notably, over 800 pet parents attended with their pets, resulting in a dynamic and engaging ambiance that supported the norm of ethical pet ownership and community building.
A Display of Kibble and Cuddles
The exhibition sprawled across a massive 3,500 sq mt of pure excitement. With over 70 exhibitors from 12 Indian states and five international markets, the expo was a bustling haven of innovation and indulgence for furry, feathery, and finned companions alike.

The expo featured a wide array of products, including pet food, treats, health and nutrition products, pharmaceuticals, boarding and training services, fashion accessories, toys, grooming products, and e-commerce services. A notable highlight was the display of over 100 varieties of ornamental fish and an extensive collection of exotic birds, captivating visitors and industry stakeholders.
Thought Leadership and Investment Opportunities
The Pet Care Industry - Investors Meet & Leadership Conference was a major highlight of the exhibition. Featuring prominent investors and industry experts on the panel, discussions revolved around investment opportunities, market trends, and innovations in the pet care sector.

The ‘Investments in Pet Care Market Trends & Startup Connects’ panel discussion was led by speakers like Kuldeep Mirani, Co-Founder & CEO, BeyondSeed Venture Solutions; Dr Madhurita Gupta, Founder, Goa Angel Network; and Rameswar Misra, Co-Founder, GOAT Brand Labs. The discussions centered around various innovations, challenges, scope, potential, and breakthroughs in India’s pet industry, with insights into how Indian pet care startups are emerging as hot spots for foreign investments.

Additionally, industry veterans like Govind Suryavanshi, Corporate Affairs Director, Public Affairs, International Division–India, SEA, South Africa, Royal Canin; and Bharat Pittie, Director, Orange Pet Nutrition Pvt Ltd; Hari Shankar, Co-Founder, Pets of Paradise; and Dr Madhurita Gupta provided insights into emerging trends in the Indian pet market.
A Playground for Pets & Parents
Apart from business and networking opportunities, the exhibition delighted attendees with various interactive activities. The event featured fun games and pet-parent bonding sessions, a dog sports demonstration, and expert consultations on obedience training.

Another event highlight was the World Cat Federation (WCF) International Cat Championship, which witnessed over 100 cats participating, judged by two experts from Lithuania and Russia. The pet adoption drive was another key initiative, promoting responsible pet ownership and finding loving homes for animals in need.
PETEX Leaves Its Print on Exhibitors
As the show wrapped up, exhibitors expressed immense satisfaction with the event’s organization, footfall, and business opportunities. Kishore John, Brand Manager, Orange Pet Nutrition Pvt Ltd, expressed that the exhibition provided an invaluable platform for B2B and B2C engagement.

Similarly, Sreekanth, Taiyo Feed Mill Pvt Ltd, emphasized the importance of such expos for showcasing products and expanding market reach. Nik Mulakkal, Founder, Zewa Ecosystems, expressed immense happiness with the diverse visitor turnout at the company’s booth, including hobbyists and fish breeders, which set PETEX INDIA apart from other pet expos.

Representatives from Carniwel praised the event’s infrastructure and visitor response, while Hari Shankar, speaking from his experience as a first-time exhibitor, described PETEX INDIA as an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to gain visibility. As a constant participant in the exhibition since the last six editions, Neeraj Bopche, Sales Support Specialist, ABK Imports Pvt Ltd, shared that every time the show has delivered a great experience.
