US Consulate General and KIIT-TBI Launch AWE Program in Telangana, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh
US Consulate General in Hyderabad and Kalinga Institute of Information Technology, Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI), have launched the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program in Telangana, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. Both parties will implement AWE with a US Department of State grant. AWE helps female entrepreneurs formalize and grow their businesses over several months.
To impart core business skills such as strategic planning, marketing, and financial management, AWE combines the online learning platform Dream Builder with localized in-class discussion, mentoring, and engagement with local business leaders and US experts, as well as Indian alumni of US-government supported exchange programs. Dream Builder is a free online learning platform established by Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Management that offers 13 online business modules covering the fundamentals of launching a business.
AWE will support 100 female businesses in Warangal, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati. Each venue will host 25 participants for online and in-person classes.
