Tata Boeing Aerospace Marks Milestone with 300th Apache Fuselage Delivery

Tata Boeing Aerospace Ltd (TBAL), a joint venture of Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), achieved a major accomplishment by delivering its 300th AH-64 Apache attack helicopter fuselage to its customers from its Hyderabad facility. This milestone underscores India’s growing role as a key player in the global aerospace industry.

The fuselages, built for customers worldwide—including the US Army and the Indian Army’s recent order of six Apache helicopters—make up a primary part of the fleet’s build. The Indian Air Force already operates 22 AH-64E Apache helicopters.

The joint venture reflects its commitment to strengthening India’s defence industry through indigenous aerospace production and development. The company has more than 900 engineers and technicians as part of their workforce who utilize leading innovations in robotics as well as automation and advanced aerospace technology.

The Hyderabad facility of TBAL, spanning 14,000 sq mt, serves as the sole global supplier of Apache fuselages. Over 90 percent of the Apache aerostructure components are manufactured in India, sourced from over 100 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This achievement positions India as an influential member of the worldwide defence manufacturing ecosystem, supporting both domestic as well as international defence needs.
