Mumbai Hosts Global Home Textiles Showcase
The 15th edition of the bi-annual home textiles and homeware trade show, HGH India, kicked off successfully and will run till July 5, 2024, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), Mumbai. The event will feature approximately 2,500 product launches from nearly 700 Indian and international brands.
Arun Roongta, Managing Director, HGH India, emphasized the show’s role in promoting industry growth, trade, design, and innovation. With over 40,000 pre-registrations from more than 600 cities and towns in the country, Roongta expects a significant increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous year.
Inaugurated by Roop Rashi, Textile Commissioner, Ministry of Textiles, the event spans four halls, covering 50,000 sq ft. Rashi highlighted the country’s substantial contribution to the global handwoven fabric market and the Ministry’s focus on producing high-quality products for domestic and international markets. She stressed the importance of platforms like the event in uniting the home textiles industry and enhancing employment opportunities, which currently employs 5.4 crore people.
The event will showcase brands and manufacturers from 32 countries catering to home retailers, architects, interior designers, distributors, and institutional buyers. The next edition of the event is scheduled for December 3-6, 2024, in Bengaluru.
