IATO Delegation Meets New Tourism Minister to Boost Inbound Tourism
A high-level delegation from the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), led by Rajiv Mehra, President, IATO; Ravi Gosain, Vice President, IATO; and Sanjay Razdan, Honorary Secretary, IATO, recently met with the newly appointed Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Cabinet Minister of Tourism, Government of India. The meeting was a congratulatory visit to discuss strategies for boosting India’s inbound tourism sector.
Shekhawat expressed keen interest in understanding the challenges leading to the recent decline in international tourist arrivals. He assured the delegation of the Ministry of Tourism’s unwavering support for initiatives to increase inbound tourism. This collaborative approach is a step towards addressing industry challenges and fostering growth. The delegation praised the minister’s proactive engagement and suggested discussing key insights and recommendations to enhance support from the ministry and other relevant departments.
Mehra, speaking on behalf of the delegation, expressed optimism about the potential for significant growth in international tourist arrivals under the minister’s steadfast leadership. The delegation reaffirmed its full support to the government and the Ministry of Tourism in realizing the vision of increasing foreign tourist visits to India.
