Hyderabad to be Promoted as ‘Health-Tech Mecca’
Telangana Government will work on a programme to position Hyderabad as the world's ‘Health-Tech Mecca', and that a few global health-tech unicorns will emerge from this programme, stated KT Rama Rao, Minister for IT & Industries, Government of Telangana. The state will support healthcare-tech startups through incubator programs and deep computing resources.
The state had set a goal of doubling the value of the life sciences ecosystem to US$ 100 billion by 2030 and would meet the goal by 2025. Telangana is investing in cell and gene therapy and working to establish an Institute of Curative Medicine in Hyderabad to develop and commercialize new curative therapies, particularly cell and gene therapy, for diseases.
