Hyderabad ORR Project Takes Major Leap Forward with IRB Golkonda Expressway Agreement
IRB Golkonda Expressway Private Ltd recently signed a concession agreement with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) for tolling and operations & maintenance (O&M) of the Jawaharlal Nehru Outer Ring Road, also known as the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR), on a Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) basis. The IRB Golconda Expressway is an IRB Infra project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV).
The project entails an up-front payment of INR 7,380 crore to HMDA for the tolling and operation and maintenance of a 158-km portion of the Hyderabad ORR over a revenue-linked concession period of 30 years. The company is now one step closer to completing the endeavor financially. IRB Infra is India’s first integrated infrastructure participant in the highways segment and the largest integrated private toll roads and highway infrastructure developer in India, with an asset base of over INR 70,000 crore in 11 states.
