Hyderabad Airport Adapts for Anticipated Surge in Year-End Travel

Hyderabad Airport is improving its infrastructure to handle a 15-20 percent increase in passenger volume between Christmas and New Year. To ensure passenger satisfaction, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) is employing comprehensive measures. GHIAL is staffing terminals with passenger service associates and specialized teams for a high load factor in December. To optimize its unified terminal, the airport added lounges, retail and food outlets, and an arrival hall with indoor landscapes.
GHIAL has added DigiYatra to domestic passenger entry gates, increased check-in desks, self-bag drop kiosks, and upgraded the international pier to boost passenger convenience. A larger domestic pier, more immigration and security counters, and an international baggage reclaim area are among the measures. These improvements speed up operations, expedite processes, and make holiday travel more pleasurable.
