Defence Minister Inaugurates Warhead and RF Seeker Facility at BDL In Telangana
Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Defence Minister, Government of India recently dedicated to the nation a number of new manufacturing facilities established at Bharat Dynamics Limited’s (BDL) Bhanur Unit in Telangana. They include a Warhead facility at the Bhanur Unit and a Radio Frequency (RF) Seeker facility at the Kanchanbagh Unit.
The Minister, addressing BDL’s researchers, engineers, technicians, and other personnel, described the inauguration of the manufacturing facilities as a testament to the Defence Public Sector Undertaking’s commitment to strengthening the defense sector and realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
He virtually inaugurated the RF Seeker Facility, which is an integrated Centre for the production and testing of RF seekers—a critical and technologically advanced subsystem that will be used for target tracking in all future missiles.
The Defence Minister also virtually inaugurated a Central Storage facility—a state-of-the-art facility, outfitted with a modern storage system that includes a vertical Carousel System, a Mechanical Compactor, and a Motorized Compactor that can meet the Unit’s entire storage requirements—at BDL’s Visakhapatnam Unit on the occasion.
He virtually inaugurated infrastructure facilities built by BDL as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in Military Madhavaram village, West Godavari District. The statue of Mahatma Gandhi was also unveiled by the Minister on the BDL grounds. Among those present were CMD, BDL Commodore Siddharth Mishra (Retd), and senior civil and military officials from the Ministry of Defence.
